Canadian records spanning more than 300 years from 1621 were published without interruption the family and social story website ancestry.co.uk and revealed the unlikely tie between the three women. Camilla — the second married woman of Prince Charles, Britain’s heir to the throne — Madonna and Dion are all descended from French carpenter Zacharie Cloutier, according to the website. “The occurrence that Camilla and Madonna are related, howsoever distantly, highlights the truly unpredictable and diverting grain of family history research,” uttered ancestry.co.uk speaker Simon Harper. The ancestors of some of Canada’s mostly celebrated Quebecois, including former prime assist Pierre Trudeau, are included in the archive.
